Goliad: A Cultural Convergence

“My friend Michael Manjarris put this show together; he dreamed it, he organized and curated it. He said it was to celebrate the independence of Mexico from France, and that it was to be at the Presidio La Bahia in Goliad, one of the most significant historical sites in Texas. These reasons alone were enough to get my interest. Showing under alternative circumstances is what got me to the ball. It just seems to me that a show like this is part of the life blood of art and has all the energy it needs to feed the little roots. None of this is about the high art world – they wouldn’t touch this. This is about people and friendship, and being with artists you know and respect. This about place and the right time for something good to happen.”
